Join a small group tour of Utah with Southwest Adventure Tours to see the unique geological formations of Utah’s Mighty 5 national parks in eight days.  You will be joined by no more than 14 other guests and expertly guided by a private guide. Hiking, scenic viewpoints, local eateries, hidden gems, and other fantastic experiences await for an unforgettable week.

Tour starts and finishes in Salt Lake City

2 nights Salt Lake City, 2 nights Moab, 1 night Torrey, 1 night Bryce Canyon, 1 night Springdale

Day 1: Salt Lake City

Arrive at Salt Lake City Airport and transfer to the hotel on your own by the hotel shuttle. The rest of the day is free for you to explore, perhaps walk into downtown and visit, Temple Square and learn about the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints or dine in one of the city’s many restaurants.

Day 2: Salt Lake City to Canyonlands National Park 

Depart Salt Lake City at 07.00 and travel to the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National ParkHike to Mesa Arch for an up-close view of one of the most photographed arches in America’s South-West. Explore the Grand Viewpoint, an Ancestral Puebloan granary and hike along the rim of the canyons. Continue to Moab for the night. With a scenic backdrop of mountain peaks and rolling dunes, Moab is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who love hiking, biking, rafting and off-road adventures.

Day 3: Arches National Park

Rise early to visit Arches National Park to explore its timeless landscape od unusual rock formations. Stops include the Windows Section, Park Avenue, Balanced Rock, Delicate Arch and other amazing geological features. Continue trekking through Arches National Park on a hike to Landscape Arch, one of the longest natural arches in the world. Later today, take a scenic drive/hike along the Colorado River, which showcases ancient petroglyphs depicting animals, humans and geometric patterns carved on to red rock walls

Day 4: Moab to Capitol Reef National Park 

Today head to the mystical landscape of Goblin Valley State Park before you delve into the narrows of Sulphur Creek or the Grand Wash barrows at Capitol Reef National Park. Hike the Hickman Bridge, a 133-foot natural bridge, or go down to the Grand Wash to explore the park’s deep canyons and narrows. Later in the afternoon, visit Panoramic Point before taking the short drive to Torrey.

Day 5: Torrey to Bryce Canyon National Park 

Spend the morning further exploring Capitol Reed National Park, perhaps visiting Cassidy Arch or Chimney Rock. Then continue along Scenic Highway 12 through the Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument. The journey will include a short drive down the Burr Trail, before continuing through the Escalante River, Hogs Back, Calf Creek and other scenic viewpoints along the way. The day ends as we journey to Bryce Canyon National Park for a short hike to Mossy Cave.

Day 6: Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park 

Rise early to watch the sun rise over Bryce Canyon from many of its viewpoints. Possibly hike from Sunset to Sunrise Points through the Bryce Amphitheatre using the Queens Garden Trail. Later in the day, drive to Zion National Park passing through the wild swirling sandstone formations of Zion’s east entrance and possibly hike the East Canyon Overlook Trail for a bird’s eye view of the canyon. Continue to Springdale, located just outside the park’s entrance.

Day 7: Zion National Park to Salt Lake City

This morning, return to Zion National Park to hike the three-mile Emerald Pools loop to see a trio of pools and waterfalls. Other possible hikes are Angels Landing or the Narrows of the Virgin River, time and weather permitting. Return to Salt Lake City by 1800 ( 4 hours, 30 minutes drive from Zion National Park)

Day 8: Salt Lake City

Time at leisure to explore Salt Lake City before you transfer back to Salt Lake City Airport by hotel shuttle bus for your departure flight.
