Days 1-4, Cleveland
Arrival: Land at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, collect your rental car or if you prefer we can arrange a transfer for you, Cleveland is a very walkable city.
In Downtown experience urban amenities within arms-reach of the great outdoors, from the sandy beaches of Lake Erie to the “Emerald Necklace” of lush parkland surrounding the city. Stay downtown at ROOST Cleveland and take advantage of their free bike lending program or at the hip Aloft Cleveland to be within walking distance of the lively waterfront.

Highlights:
• Head to Edgewater Beach to soak up the sun and then stroll along the walking path to the Cleveland Script Sign, an iconic photo-stop overlooking the water and city skyline.
• Rent a kayak, jet ski or stand-up paddleboard and enjoy a day out on the Cuyahoga River.
• Sit down to a fresh, locally sourced lunch on the outdoor patio at Merwin's Wharf and gaze with awe as commercial freighters float down the Cuyahoga River.
• Take a short drive south of Downtown to explore the Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s 33,000 acres of wooded splendour. Start with a ranger chat at the Boston Mills Visitor Centre before hiking up to Brandywine Falls or driving to the charming town of Peninsula to climb aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
• Rent a bike from Ohio City Co-op and explore Cleveland’s urban bike paths or keep pedaling down the Towpath Trail, a 101-mile trail that stretches from Lake Erie down through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
• Watch the sunset over the water with a local beer in hand on the riverfront patio at Collision Bend Brewery in the Flats East Bank Entertainment District.

3 Nights – Cleveland

Days 4-7,  Columbus (2 1/2 hour drive)
Drive to Columbus and check into a hotel in the heart of Downtown Columbus like Hotel LeVeque, Autograph Collection. Take in the city’s stunning skyline by exploring the nearby Scioto Mile, a 175-acre urban riverfront destination Downtown.

Highlights:
• Kayak or stand-up paddle board along the Scioto River with rentals from Windrose Outdoors.
• Climb the country’s first urban via ferrata at Quarry Trails Metro Park.
• Go bird watching at Scioto Audubon Metro Park, a 119-acre green oasis Downtown where wildlife and birds thrive and flourish.
• See bison at Batelle Darby Creek Metro Park, which features more than 7000 acres of forest, prairies and wetlands.
• Visit Topiary Park Downtown, which fully recreates a scene from Georges Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

3 Nights – Columbus

Days 7-9, Cincinnati (2 hour drive)
Continue south to the Cincy Region, a scenic two-state destination along the Ohio River made up of Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky, known for its blend of urban adventure and natural beauty. Stay at the new Moxy Cincinnati Downtown for a trendy, walkable base or the Marriott RiverCenter for river views and access to trails, bridges and cultural landmarks.

Highlights:
• Rent a Red Bike and explore Cincitucky Trails — America’s largest urban trail system, spanning both Ohio and Kentucky.
• Soak up Ohio River views from Eden Park, and visit the Krohn Conservatory, a 1930s greenhouse filled with tropical plants, floral shows, and annual butterfly show.
• Paddle the Ohio River and its tributaries by rentable kayak or time your visit with Cincy's Ohio River Paddlefest, the nation’s largest paddling event.
• Hike near a herd of bison at Big Boone Lick State Historic Site, part of the Lewis and Clark National Trail. Then swing through the quirky nearby river town of Rabbit Hash, home to a dog mayor.
• Visit Fort Ancient, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ancient Native American earthworks with hiking trails.
• End your day with local beer and bites at sustainably focused MadTree Brewing — one of Cincy’s 70+ local breweries — or take a sunset dinner cruise with BB Riverboats.

3 Nights – Cincinnati

Final morning options:
• Walk across the historic Roebling Suspension Bridge and grab breakfast in Mainstrasse Village, Covington, Kentucky’s walkable, Bavarian-style neighbourhood filled with historic buildings and inviting cafés.
• Head to Devou Park — one of the best spots for panoramic skyline views. Enjoy trails, picnic spots or a round of disc golf before your flight.
• Return your rental car or we can arrange a transfer if you have already dropped your car and head to the Airport.
